When you join Fairfax County Public Schools, you'll be a part of a community of more than 21,000 individuals in 234 schools spread across the County's 395 square miles — all dedicated to the County's 164,000+ school-aged children.
You'll also be a part of a smaller community — the Transportation Team — which is responsible for keeping 1,675 buses carrying 110,000 students moving each school day.
Our organization's commitment is to a common goal: the children. This creates an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support like no other.
There are monthly pyramid meetings where groups of drivers review safety details, hear from an advisory-council person, find answers to questions — and usually share food and beverages.
You'll also be able to enjoy informal group get-togethers — for bowling, lunch, the gym and even bingo! And don't be surprised if you're invited to participate in Secret Pals, Sunshine Clubs, Birthday Clubs and parties — for weddings, babies and other special occasions.
There's a reason why you always see school bus drivers waving to each other. They are friends and colleagues, both on the road and in their regular get-togethers.
